Prime Hide s.r.o. is the largest and most important producer of cattle hides in the central European region. The company was founded in 1991. It has a unique location in Trutnov, about 90 minutes from the city of Prague, one hour from the German border and 20 minutes from Poland.
The company has long established contacts with over 100 abattoirs in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Poland. The company buys fresh hides from these sources. The material is brought to a central warehouse. About half the material is chilled in an automated refrigerator and the remainder is salted. The chilled hides are sent for wet blue in Germany, or sold to Automotive / Upholstery tanners in Austria and Germany, The salted hides and wet blue are sold to worldwide markets such as the USA, South America, South Africa, China, Thailand, Italy, Russia and Korea.
